DupZilla is a duplicate file finder. The interface has a nice look and it is neatly organized. It includes many tools for filtering, creating reports, saving lists and more. Scanning is executed very fast when using the CRC comparison method. Other search methods are available too (and are more accurate).
The application is very good but I did manage to find one small problem: I could not order the files in the list using a certain criteria (I wanted to order them by size). This is not a very important issue and other methods can be used (like using filters). It’s a shame though that such a simple and useful functionality has been excluded.
A common problem that some duplicate file finders share is that they do not take into the consideration the risk of deleting necessary system files. This program avoids this risk and by default, it excludes system folders from search. It does not limit the freedom to search them though and settings can be changed according to personal preference.
Manually selecting which version of the duplicate files to delete is time consuming. This software comes with an elegant solution and has a tool for auto-selecting which files to keep/delete. After the selection is done, files can be moved to the Recycle Bin, moved to a folder or permanently deleted.
At first run, this utility requires activation. Buying a license is currently unavailable and the application is completely free. The developers say that the offer will not be available for a long time.
